Eco-Cap Initiative

All employees of YUYAMA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD. & YUYAMA CO., LTD. recycle plastic bottle caps as part of our CSR and environmental initiatives.

  • We remove and collect caps from used plastic bottles and sell them to recyclers through an association called the Ecocap Movement to promote recycling.Using its proceeds, we contribute to society by supporting worldwide pediatric vaccination, donating to earthquake disaster relief efforts, providing environmental education to schools, and creating employment for and supporting the autonomy of people with disabilities, in addition to reducing CO2emission.

Summary

Seven years have passed since we started the eco-cap initiative.As of present (February 21, 2020), we’ve provided a total of “698,274” caps to the Ecocap Movement.This is equivalent to about “5,059 kg” of CO2that would’ve become generated if they were disposed.(About 3,150 g of CO2is generated from 1 kg of caps). We’re very pleased that our small daily contribution is expanding the possibility of this initiative, and we hope to continue receiving everyone’s support so that we can keep expanding.
