Forging Better Patient Relations

EVINOTE Medication Recording System

Tell me about the events that brought you to buy the EVINOTE.

I investigated the EVINOTE after hearing that other pharmacies were implementing it. We have many prescriptions for patients with mental health issues (patients who visit a psychiatrist) and elderly patients. Even though we ask them to confirm the correct amount of the medications when they receive them, we still sometimes receive later phone calls from patients complaining that their medications are missing.
I introduced the EVINOTE system to help deal with such cases. When we first introduced the system, we had to show the images to such patients to convince them, but now such complaints have almost disappeared.

Mr. Kaneko Grandly Accepted the Interview.

The EVINOTE is a system that automatically starts recording when the QR-code affixed to the medication counter desk is covered with a prescription or other items so that pharmacists can create medical records while going about their regular duties. How do you feel about the system after having used it?

The lack of extraneous or unwanted images makes it easy find what I want when searching through recorded image data (images are only recorded when the QR code is covered). I also like the fact that I can store data for extended periods.

How easy is it to install?

The installation was much easier than expected and it didn’t detract from the visual design of the pharmacy.

How are you using EVINOTE in your daily work routine?

I use images recorded with EVINOTE for dealing with patients, as mentioned earlier, and to allay any concerns our pharmacists may have after dispensing the medication. The EVINOTE offers our pharmacists a sense of security in their work and gives a good impression to pharmacists who come for job interviews.

Can you give me an example of a time when the recorded images have proven useful?

There was a patient on medication that couldn’t be discontinued or stopped abruptly who complained that they were given less than the prescribed amount. After showing the EVINOTE images and explaining that there was no error, I gave them the missing amount. Then a few days later, they returned saying they’d found the missing medication and handed it back. I have kept a good pharmacist–patient relationship with them, since then.

Haugen Pharmacy (Kanagawa Prefecture) is such a place.

We wanted our waiting room to feel and look like a lobby of a first-class hotel.

The waiting room has low ambient lighting, a calming atmosphere, and no outside noise coming in. The minimalist wall design without glaring posters and the color scheme of the dispensing room, seen from the waiting room, creates a comfortable and elegant space for waiting patients. Six EVINOTE Medication Recording Systems are positioned on the pharmacy counter.
